Who shows what?
ARD and ZDF have divided and send the Paralympics days - unlike three years ago with paralympic winter games in Pyeongchang - in daily change. The ARD starts on Tuesday with the live broadcast of the opening ceremony of 12:50 pm (CEST) and also reports from the first day of the competition. On Thursday, the ZDF is on the first time, which also transmits the graduation ceremony on Sunday in a week at 12.55.
How much send ARD and ZDF?
The public broadcasters offer comprehensive reporting from Paralympics, show around 65 hours in their main programs alone. There are offers on the Internet with up to three live streams, on which, for example, wheelchair basketball runs early in the morning. The main broadcasting times on television are almost always between 9:05 and 15.00 according to the transmitter.
Why does not Eurosport transfers?
The first and the second have acquired exclusive rights that come across the Agency Infront by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Olympic Rights, on the other hand, had sold the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the EuroSport parent company Discovery, which in turn sold sub-licenses to ARD and ZDF.
Is there a special service for the disabled?
Yes. There are audio crips for people with visual restrictions, subtitles and day summaries online in sign language.
Who are the moderators and experts?
The ARD relies on Michael Antwerpes as a moderator, experts of the first are Kirsten Bruhn and Heinrich Popow. At ZDF, Moderator Yorck Polus and Expert Matthias Berg are in use.
