The Super Mario de Lego collection now has a new and exciting addition in the form of games based on the Luigi's Mansion series, and Nintendo has launched a completely new progress to show them in action. Sets have characters and locations based on derivative games, including Professor E. Add, Caterpillar and more. The Sets also give Luigi his faithful backpack Poltergeist, which is perfect for sucking spirits. It is a good way for LEGO and NINTENDO to expand the concept, and the new sets also seem to give Luigi many new reactions based on games!
The progress of the new sets can be found embedded below.
The original Mansion of Luigi was a launching title for Nintendo Game cube in 2001. The series remained inactive until 2013, when Nintendo and Next Level Games revived the IP with Manning of Luigi: Dark moon in 3DS. While the first two games were modest vendors for Nintendo, Luigi 3, has been a great seller in Switch, moving almost 10 million copies since its launch in 2019. Games have helped Luigi establish a personality out of the shadow. De Mario and have provided her own support cast. That success is probably what convinced Lego and Nintendo to expand the line to sets of games based on games, and it also gave them the opportunity to add characters who had not yet received the treatment of Lego!
Given the number of video games based on Lego properties that have been released over the years, it is surprising that we have not seen a game based on the Sets of Mario Lego. A LEGO-style Mario game that incorporates construction mechanics could be very fun, and it seems that many Nintendo fanatics would be interested in trying it. For now, fanatics will only have to settle for sets themselves. With luck, Lego and Nintendo will continue to find new interesting ways to expand the concept!
